Food safety is more important than ever. News headlines tell the story every day. Public concern about food safety has never been greater. Each highly publicized incident of food bourne illness deals a blow to the public's confidence in our industry.

Sysco Columbia, in conjunction with The Education Foundation of the National Restaurant Association is proud to offer ServSafe® certification seminars. We offer both 8 hour and 16 hour Training and Certification exams built on the ServSafe® Serving Safe Food program.

During the training, instructors will:
Review and discuss material in the current coursebook;
Present DVDs to reinforce concepts;
Utilize interactive games to facilitate learning;
Prepare participants to take the certification exam

The exam will certify participants in such topics as:
Introduction to Food Safety;
Microorganisms and Allergens;
Personal Hygiene;
Purchasing, Receiving, and Storing;
Preparation, Cooking and Serving;
Facilities, Cleaning and Sanitizing, and Pest Management
